COMMUNITY BASED DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS

ASK has the experience of working in the development sector since 1993 and the first hand opportunity of planning and implementing ASK – Sankalp: A development intervention for working children in brass industry at Moradabad, U. P, India in partnership with “ The CONRAN SHOP”, a UK based buying house. ASK team facilitates the planning & Implementation of Community based socio & economic development projects for other interested Corporates.
ASK – Sankalp is:

Providing holistic development opportunities to the children through interventions on education, health, nutrition and recreation for enabling normal and joyful growth.
Facilitating the economic empowerment of the mothers of these children through skill training in the various processes of brass manufacturing and thereby replacing the child as an earning member.

Nischaya Project- In partnership with PENTLAND, an UK based buying house

Pentland, another UK based retailer, sourcing leather products out of Agra had decided to facilitate the initiation of project among the leather worker communities around Agra through the forum of Exporters based in Agra, U.P, India. ASK had facilitated the planning of this development intervention.

The focus of the project is on:

Developing the capacities of the export association body to initiate Social Development initiatives
Girl Child Education Program to be implemented by the export association
Upgrade technical and vocational skills of youth groups on modern methods of designing and manufacturing in shoe industry

RESEARCH

With the growing emphasis on corporate social responsibility, there has been a growing need to develop a comprehensive knowledge base around CSR. ASK has assisted and carried out research/studies for its clients to develop an insight into industry and/or region specific, status of CSR.
