GENDER ANALYSIS
Gender analysis helps in determining the potential, division of roles and responsibilities as well as the overall status of women vis-à-vis men in a given society / community. Further it enables to recognize the constraints on women and also the underlying factors. Perceptions of both women and men are integrated in conducting the analysis.
ASK has conducted both:
Women participation in local systems of Governance in Jaipur district, Rajasthan
A gender analysis was done in the villages of Block Chaksu in Jaipur, Rajasthan to understand the level of participation of women in the local governance systems i.e. Panchayati Raj. Participatory exercises were done with both men and women in the villages to understand the existing status.
Women participation in economic activities in Moradabad and Ballia, UP.
To assess the participation of women in the economic sphere and understand their access and control over financial resources the exercise of gender analysis was done in an urban community in Moradabad, with both men and women. A similar activity was done in the villages in the district Ballia of UP.
