OUR PROGRAM INTERVENTIONS

The mission of ASK is to build capacities for social change. The capacity building work done by ASK today includes building up of perspectives on development, increasing socially responsible behavior, improving knowledge of concepts and practices of development, skills building, developing managerial capacities, enhancing developmental behaviors and attitudes, facilitating clarity of vision and mission, establishment of policies, systems and procedures.

The interventions are made through five program divisions of ASK. These are:

Recognition of our work

Despite being an organization a little more than a decade old, our work today is recognized by national and international organizations. We provide services to some of the leading organizations in NGO, Development Aid, and Corporate sectors. We are also a part of several national and International dialogues and forums on social development and socially responsible development.

On Corporate Social Responsibility

Consultations, dialogues and membership

• “Crisis to collaboration” consultation process on Brass and Glass sectors jointly organized by IBLF, Save the Children Fund, Business For Social responsibility (BSR) and ASK. The consultations were organized in San Francisco, London, Delhi and Moradabad.
• Global Alliance, a Global initiative to build the capacities of corporate houses on socially responsible behavior.
• ASK is a member (Civil Society Representative) of the stakeholder council of the Global reporting Initiative, an initiative of the UN.
• Asian conference of the Association for Sustainable and Responsible Investment in Asia
• ASK formulated the monitoring policy for R&R in infrastructure projects of ADB
• Invited for the safeguard policy review by the International Finance Corporation (IFC)
• Facilitated and participated in the Round Table on future of Bilateral Aid organized with Indian NGOs by Cordaid, Netherlands
• Facilitated the South Asian and South East Asian conferences on Access to Market that discussed the role of NGOs in enhancing the access to market for the poor and the marginalized
• Participated in the consultations held for formulating the Child Labor policy of CIDA
• Included by Centre for Social Markets in its publication “ Who’s who in CSR in India”
