Capacity Building Division draws its existence from the mission of ASK, “to be a capacity building institution which enables CBO’s, intermediary organizations and corporate to achieve and sustain visible socio-economic development. “This Division provides facilitation support to development organizations, their leadership, staff as well as the grassroots communities for realization of effective development results.

Evaluation and Documentation Division

Enhancing Efficiency through Reflection and Accountability

The Evaluation and Studies Division was born from our realization that undertaking evaluations, research and documentations are another specialized and effective means for building capacities. Over the years, ASK has laid substantial emphasis on the need for conducting issue based research, participatory monitoring and evaluations of development initiatives by NGOs.

Resettlement and Rehabilitation Division

Mainstreaming Social Development Principles in Infrastructure Development

The Resettlement and Rehabilitation (R&R) Division came into existence in order to address the consequences of development-induced displacement in the region by promoting the concept of ‘socially responsible rehabilitation’. The Division has been working on addressing the agenda of social development and R&R in all such projects, which involve involuntary resettlement by means of facilitating preparation of a pro-poor, pro-people & equitable policy framework in order to safeguard rights of the affected communities.

Corporate Social Accountability Division

Promoting Socially Responsible Business Practices

The Corporate Social Responsibility (CSA) Division of ASK facilitates initiative of corporate houses to achieve social, economic and environmentally sustainable development within and outside the ambit of their business operations. At the same time, we are committed to the rights of the worker community and their empowerment.

Grassroots Interventions

Demonstrative Field-based Projects

ASK has initiated several grassroots projects. Sankalp, a project with the objective of mainstreaming child labourers of the brass units of Moradabad in to education, is one of the first such projects. Unnati is a program for developing entrepreneurship among the women in Moradabad. The Chhattisgarh Project Management Division developed a demonstrative project in the tribal areas of Chhattisgarh to provide proper sanitation facilities on lines of gender equality. The Regional Resource Forum was a self-help initiative of NGOs in erstwhile Bihar. ASK provided capacity building facilities for these NGOs.
